I began on this path driven by a strong desire to support others in developing a harmonious relationship with their bodies. My approach combines clinical effectiveness with restorative relaxation. Alongside my practice, I taught in the Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) program at Langara College. This experience has inspired me to establish a mentorship program to guide new RMTs through the initial stages of their careers.

    Background and Philosophy:

With a deep understanding that working with people's bodies and pain is a sacred trust, I wanted to create Studio Remede as a safe and thoughtful space where individuals can discover a profound sense of presence for their body, mind, and spirit. I believe your body is a wise friend who is always supporting you, and my work is about introducing you to its wisdom while also providing you with ways to support it.

    Interests and Passions:

Beyond my professional endeavors, I have a passion for the horror genre, eagerly seeking out spine-chilling movies, captivating documentaries, and intriguing podcasts. My love for all things Batman reflects my inner nerdiness.

    Approach and Methodology:

My process begins with an in-depth consultation to gain a comprehensive understanding of each individual's unique history and needs. I approach the body holistically, combining my knowledge in myofascial release, active myofascial release, and deep tissue techniques. Simultaneously, I prioritize working with the parasympathetic nervous system to foster a state of restorative balance.

My focus lies in women's health, particularly in pre and post-natal massage as well as treating orthopedic injuries related to the shoulder and neck. I am dedicated to offering patient-centered care and, when necessary, collaborating with other qualified practitioners to ensure comprehensive and holistic treatment.

I began my practice in March 2009 graduating from West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Through the years I have developed my skills in myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, joint mobilization, facilitated stretching, and general Swedish incorporating a variety of techniques as I feel required.

My scope of practice spans from specific injuries or pathology such as sprains, muscle strain, and migraine to general stress relief.

I have also been an assistant instructor and clinic supervisor at both West Coast and Langara College in their respective RMT programs.

My personal interests include a dedicated meditation and yoga practice along with hitting the gym regularly for weight resistance exercises and cardio. I also enjoy getting on my bike or hitting the woods for a hike.

For entertainment, I love a good sci-fi flick or dinner out with friends, or a low-key evening at home with a book. I will also attempt to impress with my cooking skills. Some ya win, some, well, you learn.

  • Aizhana Janie, RMT

    Registered Massage Therapist

    Contact | aizhanajaniermt@gmail.com

Aizhana is a graduate of the Langara RMT Program. Growing up she participated in dance, gymnastics, and various other sports which strengthened her conviction of the importance of individualized, patient-centered physical rehabilitation and maintenance programs for everyone, no matter the physical activity level. She is passionate about helping others by facilitating more ease with movement and daily life activities, often by means of reducing pain, discomfort, and stress. She believes in helping patients support themselves by providing advice on home self-care such as exercise, hydrotherapy, and small daily modifications. Her ideal goals are to graduate patients to the maintenance phase where fewer and fewer treatments are needed.

Her practice interests are in women’s health, including pre-natal and post-natal periods, as well as general orthopedic injuries (both acute and chronic/repetitive).

On days off she loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s patio gardening, hiking, or snowboarding. Her other passions are animals and reading, (so you can always count on her to provide animal or book trivia)!

    RATES (GST Included)

Please note that Aizhana will be doing a gradual fee increase. Starting January 1st, 2024 there will be a $5 increase, and a smaller increase on April 1st, 2024.
